Artist, Cedric Taylor completes the mural project at Quitman Lower Elementary! Assistant Principal Angie Ledbetter had this to say:
“I wanted to show you our new mural we have at QLE! Cedric Taylor, from Colorado, came to our school last week and did this for us. He also sketched caricatures of our students. The theme for the mural was based around our school wide unit on Mississippi, but we also incorporated the 7 reading strategies that we use in all of our classrooms. Now, each time our students come up or down the stairs, they are reminded of the importance of reading, the symbols of Mississippi, many famous people who are from MS, as well as how reading can help you be successful! We are very proud of this new addition to our school!”
