Artist Ann McKee visits QLE

As Quitman Lower Elementary enters into their 2nd year of being a recipient of the Whole School grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission, students enjoyed a visit from Mississippi author Annie McKee. Mrs. McKee is the author of Historic Photos of Mississippi. Students at QLE are studying Mississippi during the first nine weeks and they were able to learn many stories about the history of Mississippi with Mrs. McKee. While dressed in clothes of long ago, Mrs. McKee shared stories and photos of events that happened long ago in Mississippi. Following the student presentations, teachers attended a professional development to learn more about the history of Mississippi.
