2011 Art Camp at Oak Grove Primary

Oak Grove Primary hosted their 2011 Art Camp, July 11-15. “Celebrate America” was the theme of this year’s week long camp making this the ninth year of the event. Children sampled the four areas of the arts-music, movement, visual arts and drama. The visual arts focused on American artists Peter Max, Jasper Johns, Jackson Pollock, and Georgia O’Keeffe. The children created their own props and costumes for the grand finale on Friday. The camp is directed by Ann Nelson and AnnClaire Bennett and focuses on children Pre-K through third grade. Oak Grove Primary has been a model school for Arts Integration from the Mississippi Arts Commission for the past five years.
